Torch on Membranes
Torch On Membranes (TOM) are polymer modified membranes used as Bituminous Waterproofing for substructures and roofs. TOM’s are manufactured out of a mixture of bitumen and different polymers like APP (Atactic Poly Propylene) or SBS (Styrene Butadiene Styrene) to influence cold temperature performance, elongation etc. and are coated onto a dimension stable reinforcement (Polyester or Glassfibre) to influence mechanical properties like tear-strength, puncture resistance, etc
Self adhesive membranes
Self Adhesive Membranes (SAM) are self adhesive polymer modified bituminous waterproofing sheet membranes, laminated onto different kind of films or fabrics. With high performing and available solar reflective HDPE cross laminated films, unique properties can be achieved. With Polyester or Polypropylene surfacing, SAM’s can replace traditional protective membranes. Due to the self adhesive properties, torching is not necessary which makes the application safe and easy for the applicator. Combining strong films with less thickness of the membrane, the carbon footprint and environmental impact reduces by 200 percent compared to traditional systems.
Protection Boards are designed for use as a permanent protection to most waterproofing and damp proofing systems, especially the bitumen based sheet membrane and coating systems indicated in BS 8102. Protection Boards will absorb the impact of aggregate shock as well as normal site foot traffic and protect the waterproofing membrane from penetration by the sharp edges of reinforced steel and aggregate during the backfill process and late settlement.
Bituminous Coatings are used to form a flexible and vapour proof protective coating, depending on the formulation and grade of polymerisation. With the grade of Polymer or Fibre Reinforcement used the grade of flexibility, behaviour against water and vapour transmission, etc. can be influenced.
